This hunt takes place in the Norwegian Highlands, about 45 minutes from the town of Røros—an area known for producing several world record bulls. The terrain is open and rolling with scattered tundra and mountainous features.
This is a spot-and-stalk hunt. You’ll use optics to locate herds of bachelor bulls—sometimes hundreds strong—and work with your guide to approach and harvest a trophy bull. Horse access is available for hunters who prefer to ride.
Bring a flat-shooting rifle in the .270–.300 Win Mag class. You’ll need waterproof hiking boots, layered synthetic or wool clothing, rain gear, optics, and a daypack. Rentals are also available on-site.
It can be. The terrain is open but can require long hikes over uneven ground. That said, horses are available for hire to assist with both access and pack-out, making this hunt accessible to most fitness levels.
The season runs from August 25 through September 20. Earlier hunts offer warmer temps and active herds. Later dates give you cooler weather and better cape quality.

You’ll stay in a comfortable mountain hotel or lodge with private rooms and traditional Norwegian meals. Some hunters choose to stay in historic Røros for a more cultural experience.
This trip includes 3 days of 1×1 guided hunting, your reindeer trophy, Røros transfers, interpretation services, and all in-field support. Horse use, lodging, meals, and license fees are additional.
