Guided Montana Elk Hunts on Private Ground

Experience Elk Hunting on a Well-Managed Ranch in Central Montana

ARCHERY AND RIFLE HUNTS

Hunters are invited to pursue elk on a carefully managed 10,000-acre ranch nestled in the foothills of the Crazy Mountains in central Montana. This Montana elk hunting ranch is designed to offer a premium hunting experience by limiting the number of hunters, which reduces pressure on the game and increases the chances of a successful hunt. Hunting tactics include a combination of ground blinds, calling, and spot-and-stalk methods, allowing for a versatile and adaptive approach.

While vehicles can access the property, efforts are made to minimize disturbance by primarily using horses and hiking. The trophy potential on the ranch varies depending on factors such as time of year, temperature, and weather patterns, but hunters typically have opportunities to pursue impressive 5×5 and 6×6 bulls.

Moderate Terrain for a Great Elk Hunting Experience

The ranch features what can be considered moderate terrain for elk country, allowing hunters to experience the excitement of elk hunting without the need to climb thousands of feet every day. However, with elevations exceeding 6,000 feet, the landscape still presents a challenge, making it essential for hunters to arrive in good physical condition. Being in shape not only enhances the overall experience but also improves the odds of a successful hunt.

RIFLE HUNTS

Rifle hunts take place in late October and run through late November. They maximize hunter success by limiting the number of hunters we allow on the property over the course of the season.

  • The first two hunts have a max group size of four hunters per week. The remaining hunts have a max group size of two hunters per week.
  • Weather can play a huge roll in the success of the hunt. As hot weather can cause the elk to hole up and a massive snow storm can push elk out of the area.
  • Overall this is a very enjoyable hunt with high odds of success.

ARCHERY HUNTS

Archery hunts take place in the month of September and the first week of October. The hunting on this ranch is truly spectacular, hunters can expect to see and hear bugling bulls every day of their hunt.
