Lake Athabasca, Saskatchewan Fishing Lodge #OI-LU1

Saskatchewan fishing for giant lake trout on Lake Athabaska.

Saskatchewan Fishing Lodge

The largest Lake Trout ever recorded came out of Lake Athabasca, Saskatchewan!

Lake Athabasca is the 9th largest lake in North America and boasts a reputation for some of the largest freshwater fish in the world.  The largest Lake Trout ever recorded was caught here, and it weighed in at a whopping 102 pounds!  The Canadian record for Northern pike was also caught here weighing in at 42 pounds. If you’ve never felt the power of a 25 pound Lake trout or if you’ve never caught a 40” pike on a fly rod, this trip should be on your bucket list.

  • Remote, fishing lodge in a roadless area.
  • Fish for lake trout, Northern pike or both.
  • You can expect to catch pike over 40 inches, and lake trout over 20 pounds.
  • Fly fishing  can be amazing as well!
  • Saskatchewan fishing season starts the 3rd Friday in June & goes to the first Friday in October.
