Texas Whitetail Hunts

Experience prime whitetail hunting in the Texas Hill Country

With opportunities tailored to multiple experiences, from free-range hunts to managed high-fence properties. These Texas ranches offer exceptional quality, diverse terrain, and a first-class experience from start to finish.

  • Pre-rut, prime-rut, and late season Texas whitetail hunting opportunities.
  • The ranches are on year around food supplementation programs, so whether you choose a free-range hunt or a high-fence one, the herd quality remains strong.
  • Don’t forget, every one of these ranches will offer you an opportunity to add on exotics species!
  • Every whitetail hunt also includes hog hunting—giving you the opportunity to turn any trip into a multi-species experience.

Most hunters fly into Austin, or San Antonio, depending on which ranch you’re hunting. Rent a car and drive to the ranch.

Arrive around noon on Day 1 and hunt that evening. Hunt full days on day 2 and 3. Hunt the morning of day 4 and then depart. 3 days/3 nights.

The outfitter will sometimes accommodate hunters on a 4th night at no charge, depending on their travel schedule. Need to consult with him prior to booking.

These are guided hunts for trophy whitetail bucks with the exception that some of the ranches that are “shooters choice” may be semi-guided. Most hunters will hunt from stands or blinds overlooking established food and/or water sources.

Lodging options will vary dependent on the ranch that is being hunted. All of the options we utilize on whitetail hunts are nice and very accommodating. 2 are large lodges with extremely nice living areas and gourmet style kitchens. Sleeping quarters will consist of multiple bedrooms, some of which have multiple beds and some that have a single king or queen size bed. Bathrooms can be shared, Jack & Jill, as well as en-suite.

  • Archery – Can start in October
  • Rifle – November – February (May be able to rifle hunt in October depending on property)

These are high success hunts for managed whitetail. If conducting hunts on high fence ranches you will be focused on the target size class buck, but can adjust as desired. On free range hunts, you will still be hunting areas that have year-around food supplementation programs in place and both the herd quality and quantity remain strong.

Check with the outfitter for any additional activities you might want to try while you’re there. Most ranches offer hogs, predators and/or exotics.

These are not physically demanding hunts. Most hunting is done from Stand or Blind. Most ranches are capable of being wheelchair accessible.

Whitetail Deer Hunts in the Texas Hill Country

When you’re Texas deer hunting, you never know what kind of game animal will come past your blind.

It might be a hog, maybe a big Texas whitetail buck, or even some exotic you’ve never even heard of before. It can be frustrating if there is only one species that you can shoot, but these Texas hunts aren’t like that. If you’re the type of hunter who just likes to hunt, this hunt is for you! Texas almost rivals Africa for it’s diversity of things to hunt, and no matter what your budget is, we can find a hunt that fits what you are looking for.

  • We can match the hunt you’re looking for to a variety of free range ranches, as well as some great high fence options each with various lodging options and trophy quality.
  • Management bucks are are four years or older, and are typically big eight point bucks that score less than 140. On occasion we have management bucks that will have more than eight points and are older deer that score less than 140 at maturity. A lot of these bucks are very impressive and most of our clients put them on the wall.
  • We offer lots of opportunities for whitetail does for both adults and kids.  We can put together a package that fits exactly what you are looking to do.  If you want us to guide, clean, cook and prepare the game for your trip home, we can do that.  If you want a do it yourself hunt on one of our awesome properties we can do that.  Or we can do anything in between.
  • In addition to whitetail, you can hunt axis deer, sika, fallow, aoudad and more on a trophy fee basis.
  • A hog is included as are predators (bobcats have a trophy fee)

I didn't think an experience like this was possible.

This trip, was, for me at least not just a trip, for me it was a real adventure, a real experience. I love the wilderness and this trip afforded me the opportunity to connect with the Alaskan wilderness in ways very few people do. It was an experience I will never forgot in a place I can’t wait to get back to.

The outfitter handled everything perfectly.

We were thankful that Outdoors International hooked us up with a great outfitter because they were able to find us an acceptable alternate on short notice. Overall the two year process to get this float in was seamless and worry free. Just like it should be.

Thank you,
Stan Masneri

What an amazing experience!

The lodge was out of this world! Our rooms, the delicious food, the incredible wildlife and the scenery were amazing. Our photo safari guide was truly exceptional and had us on animals almost constantly. We saw over 30 different species and had some incredible up close experiences. Africa is amazing!
