Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime
A hunting trip to Greenland is an amazing experience.
Greenland is one of the few countries that still has big chunks of untouched nature. To hunt up against the Ice Sheet on prehistoric muskox is an amazing experience.
You will hunt by boat along the river, stopping along the way to glass. Once a good bull is located the stalk will start on foot.
Fly into Sisimiut, via Copenhagen, then it takes about 2-3 hours by boat to the camp.
You’ll be staying in a tented camp or cabins depending on area you’re hunting. The meals will be made of local products arctic char, shrimps, muskox, reindeer etc.
The Fall season spans from August 1 through the end of October.
This is mostly because they are allowed to use ATVs and Snowmobiles to get far into the hunting areas. That means that you can cover more ground, and see more animals – it is not a must to be in a good physical condition.
Muskox bulls group up in the winter, so it is easier to find bulls and it makes it easier to choose a very good one. An added bonus is that the hides are perfect, and you should see the incredible Northern Lights.
Flying into Kangerlussuaq, via Copenhagen, and it’s only about 15 minutes by car to the camp.
The warm cabin offers accommodation in small rooms, shared private facilities and a common area for dining and social gathering. The meals will be made of local products arctic char, shrimps, muskox, reindeer etc.
The hunting season starts March 1 and runs to April 10th.
A hunting trip to Greenland is an amazing experience.
The winter muskox hunts in Greenland can be cold, but it is a dry climate and the sun is back, so remember your sunglasses! There are 12 hours of light that time of year in Greenland, so normally the cold does not feel bad.
The outfitter does offer rentals of warm skin and thermo clothing, warm boots, skin gloves, warm skin hats all so you don’t have to buy new clothing. The difference between a Bad and a Good Experience can be the right clothing!
